Day 1: Amazon Adventure Begins
8:00 am - Departure
Our journey starts at 8:00 am, where our experienced guide and driver will collect you from your hotel or airport. A scenic 1.5-hour drive will take us to Nauta, the only town connected to Iquitos by road.
Nauta to Yarapa Community Reserve
Embark on a comfortable, traditional wooden boat and cruise through the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve Buffer Zone to our eco-lodge that overlooks the mighty Amazon River, nestled deep within the rainforest (approx. 2.5 hours, depending on seasonal conditions).
Wildlife Encounters
As we navigate the reserve's borders, spot vibrant birdlife, pink dolphins, and perhaps even sloths lounging in the majestic Munguba tree's branches.
Lodge Arrival & Lunch
Arrive at the lodge at 1 pm, followed by lunch and a leisurely one-hour break.
First Excursion: Jungle Hike
Don sturdy rubber boots and hike through the pristine jungle with our knowledgeable guide, discovering:
• Towering trees and diverse palm species
• Land mammals in their natural habitat
• Seeds used for handicrafts and souvenirs
• Medicinal plants and their modern applications
Return to the lodge before sunset.
Caiman-Spotting Excursion
After dinner, equip yourself with headlights or torches and join our guide for an exhilarating caiman-spotting excursion on nearby lakes.
Day 2: Immersive Jungle Experience
Morning Bird-Watching Excursion
Rise early to explore the jungle's vibrant avifauna, with 449 species awaiting discovery. Our expert guide will help spot iconic birds like:

Camping Adventure
After lunch, embark on a camping excursion, guided by our expert local guide.

Day 3: Serenity and Adventure

Return to the Lodge
Pack up camping gear and luggage, then head back to the lodge for lunch.
Afternoon River Expedition
Embark on a tranquil 3 pm journey downstream along the Yarapa River. Marvel at the mirror-like waters reflecting the sky and trees.
Amazon River Encounter
Navigate to the majestic Amazon River, utilizing traditional wooden boats. At the river's mouth, witness the majestic pink and gray river dolphins surfacing to breathe. Our expert guide will share insights into these legendary creatures and the threats they face.
Sunset Cruise
Bask in the stunning sunset and breathtaking landscape from the boat.
Nighttime Jungle Adventure
After dinner, grab headlamps and torches for an exhilarating night hike. Seek out:

Day 4: Relaxation and Piranha Fishing

Embark on an exciting fishing excursion, targeting the infamous piranhas. Other fish species may also bite, but these fearsome creatures are our main catch.
Fresh Catch Lunch
Return to the lodge, where our chef will prepare a mouthwatering meal featuring our freshly caught fish.
Farewell to the Jungle
Bid farewell to the jungle and begin the journey back to Iquitos.
